Do You Know Where the Magic Happens?

I was recently sitting in a rather painful lecture during my daughter's freshman orientation when one of the diagrams flashed on the screen caught my eye.  The professor was discussing the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone when you enter college.  Although making this step may be terribly uncomfortable, it can produce unexpected and magical results.  This was all relating to finding new clubs and organizations, classes and groups of friends of course.  All things important to incoming collegiate freshman.  But the image stuck with me and it's been marinating in my brain ever since.

We get all too comfortable in our routines.  I know I do as a wife and mother of 5.  There is an order to routines that gives me comfort and makes things seem manageable.  But stepping outside of your comfort zone does allow you to find wonderful things, wonderful moments.    Cindy and I really believe this is especially applicable in the fitness arena.

With every workout you are given an opportunity to find magic.  Push yourself beyond your comfort zone.  Try a workout that is new and different.  The joy that eminates from those workouts is magical.  It is one of the many reasons I choose to workout.

So when you're feeling stuck with your fitness and/or eating routine and you want to make a change, remember this image.  You must step outside of what you find comfortable or easy to find magic and change.  There are many tools on our blog to help you make that first step. Ask a friend to join you.  Make the journey, I promise you will never regret taking that first step!

Stop worrying about your identity and concern yourself with the people you care about, ideas that matter to you, beliefs you can stand by, tickets you can run on. Intelligent humans make those choices with their brai-2.png
