5 Ways to Decorate with Christmas Tree Ornaments

Christmas tree ornaments are not just for trees! Try out these creative ideas for adding a pop of color and sparkle to your holiday decorating.

Hang them from your chandeliers

I love decorating for Christmas and I one of my favorite things to use are ornaments! I hang ornaments from just about all of my chandeliers! It gives them a festive look and adds a splash of color too! I use grouping for large chandeliers, but for smaller light fixtures, I just hang one in the middle. Use your imagination!

Hang them in your windows

My favorite place to use Christmas ornaments is in my windows! I remember seeing the idea in a magazine years ago, and I have been doing it ever since. I like to hang ornaments in groupings that compliment the color scheme in that room. It makes a much bigger impact than the photos show! I use ribbon and suction cups, or I string them directly onto the curtain rods.

Nestle them in your groupings

Take the large ornaments and put them around your house on trays with other items, in greenery, or even under a glass dome!

Hang them in your garland

I had this garland going up my stairway for a couple of years, and while it looked nice, it was nothing like the ones you see in decorating catalogs. I picked up a large container of gold hued plastic balls at a big box store one Black Friday. They were really inexpensive, like a box of 50 balls for $10. I would definitely suggest plastic in case they get knocked off, which is a very real possibility in my house with kids and dogs! By adding the balls to the ribbon and lights that I already had, it made it look so much more expensive than it really was!
